একটি সংগঠিত কর্মসূচি, এতে রুগীদের তীব্র অথবা দীর্ঘস্থায়ী যন্ত্রণা এবং /অথবা রোগের লক্ষণকে বৈশিষ্ট্যমূলক ডাক্তারি সেবা, ওষুধ,অথবা চিকিত্সার দ্বারা উপশম করা অথবা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা হয়৷ এই ইউনিট বিশেষভাবে প্রশিক্ষণ প্রাপ্ত চিকিত্সক এবং অন্যান্য ক্লিনিক-এর বিশিষ্ট্য ডাক্তারদের দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয়৷ যে সকল রুগীদের অসুখ অত্যন্ত বাড়াবাড়ির পর্যায়ে,তাদের এবং তাদের পরিবারকে সহায়তামূলক সেবা প্রদান করা হয়, যেমন উচ্চ পর্যায়ের নির্দেশ অনুসারে পরামর্শদান, আত্মিক সেবা, এবং সামাজ সেবা৷
