Titanoboa
Titanoboa is a genus of snake that lived approximately 58-60 million years ago. It is the largest snake ever discovered, reaching a maximum body length of 12-15m (40-50ft), weighing in at about 1,135kg (2,500lb), and measuring about 1m (3ft) in diameter.
Fossils of titanoboa were found in Colombia in 2002 along with other large reptiles, such as crocodiles and turtles. In March 2012, a full-scale replica was displayed in Grand Central Station in New York City to promote a new TV show on the Smithsonian Channel.
